Alex Patrick is the Birmingham Business Alliance’s economic development specialist. He is responsible for a variety of support functions in the BBA’s economic development division, including supporting economic development project managers with RFI and RFP responses, proposals, identification of sites and buildings for projects, coordination of project visits across the region and assisting with incentive package development for projects. Alex also supports the BBA’s director of research with demographic research, trend analyses, generating marketing materials, lead generation and general reporting requirements for the BBA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors and Birmingham regional economic development allies meetings. He is solely responsible for managing the Birmingham region sites and buildings database, weekly project update reporting, and the BBA’s site selection consultant database.
Born and raised in Scottsboro, Ala., Alex graduated from Auburn University with degrees in economics and finance. Prior to joining the BBA, Alex was a project management intern for the economic development department of the City of Opelika and an economic development summer analyst for PowerSouth Energy Cooperative in Montgomery. He moved to Birmingham immediately after graduating from college because he wanted to start his career in economic development in a growing, exciting city in the state he’s always called home.
In his spare time, he is a huge supporter of Auburn University and Auburn athletics – you’ll often find him at Auburn football and basketball games. He also loves to run, spend time on the lake and at the beach, and hunt.
