Brian Jennings, CEcD, EDFP, is Vice President of Economic Development at the Birmingham Business Alliance. Brian is responsible for promoting the Birmingham region for economic development opportunities including recruiting target sector companies and supporting the retention and expansion of local business. To do so, Brian establishes and maintains working relationships with existing economic development organizations, local governments, ad valorem taxing jurisdictions, utility providers, existing business and industry, real estate service providers, site location consultants and construction contractors.
Prior to arriving at the BBA in 2018, Brian worked at the Amarillo, Texas Economic Development Corporation for 12 years, eventually becoming the organization’s senior vice president of business development.
Brian has a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in finance and economics from West Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council and an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) from the National Development Council. Brian is also a member of the Economic Development Association of Alabama.
In his free time Brian is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time outdoors with his son, Buster.
