Waymond Jackson, Senior Vice President of Public Policy

Emily Lawrence has served as the executive assistant to the Birmingham Business Alliance CEO since 2018. She is tasked with managing all logistics associated with the CEO; serving as a liaison to the BBA Executive Committee, Board of Directors and the BBA chairperson, as well as planning and executing all aspects of Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings; serving as Newcomen Society secretary and assisting in the execution of its annual award dinner; and representing the BBA CEO to all internal and external constituents.

Emily is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in communications and has a deep background in the field, working in marketing across various industries including pharmaceuticals and banking and serving as a legislative assistant to former United States Senator Fred Thompson. Immediately prior to her appointment at the BBA, Emily worked at Highlands School in Birmingham, where her two young daughters attend.
