The Birmingham Business Alliance is seeking 30 eligible local small businesses to participate in the second cohort of our Business Advisory Services programming – TeamUP. Kicking off in October, this six-month program will center around creating and scaling great places to work in Birmingham.
Work on your business, not just In it
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2021 holds the highest record of resignations since tracking began in 2000. The data is telling us that talented people are leaving their jobs to find better opportunities like higher wages, more opportunities for advancement, better work-life balance and more flexibility to choose where they work.
The Great Resignation didn’t happen because people did not want to work, it happened because people want to find great places to work.
EMPLOYEES IMPACT TEAM CULTURE
Phase two business owners face the challenge of meeting their growing staffing needs quickly while taking time to be intentional about who they are.
Scaling businesses can face two big challenges:
1.) Quickly hire technically-fit candidates who end up damaging your organization’s culture
2.) Lose qualified, talented teammates because of poor work environments and “bad” culture
That’s where TeamUP comes in. Through this program, you’ll be equipped with hands-on support for many concepts driving organizational excellence, including but not limited to:
amplifying leadership development
driving terrific people management
building strong organizational culture
designing effective hiring processes
strengthening administrative policies and procedures
developing meaningful core values
Monthly workshops with seasoned professionals
Peer roundtables for creative collaboration
One-on-one consulting with industry experts
Free access to Birmingham Chamber networking events
