Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC has welcomed five new associates to its Birmingham office: G. Davis Boland, Jr., Jackson B. Clancy, Malik D. Howard, Sarah Frances Jackson and Gerald Andrew Weisenfeld, Jr. All five clerked at Lightfoot before joining the firm as first-year associates – Boland, Clancy, Howard and Jackson during both their 1L and 2L summers in 2024 and 2025; Weisenfeld during his 2L summer in 2025.
“This is a strong group of first-year associates who will hit the ground running,” said managing partner Wes Gilchrist. “We look forward to them growing and developing into excellent lawyers.”
Boland earned his J.D. and B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where he served on the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board and coached the Carol Andrews ABA team. He was also a member of the school’s Children’s Rights Clinic and an articles editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession.
Clancy earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as acquisitions editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession, and his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Auburn University.
Howard earned his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and his B.S. in political science from Berry College. At Cumberland, he competed on the ADR team and served as a Caruthers Fellow.
While attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Jackson drafted and argued an appellate brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals through the school’s Appellate Advocacy Clinic and served as a junior editor and articles editor for the Alabama Law Review. She also holds a Master of Arts in teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, with honors, from the University of Georgia.
Weisenfeld earned his J.D. and B.A. from the University of Alabama, where he was a finalist in the University of Alabama School of Law’s Campbell Moot Court competition and a member of the school’s Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court team, representing the United States in the competition’s international rounds. He also served as lead articles editor of the Law and Psychology Review.
