Introducing the Academics and Business Connections Program: Empowering Birmingham's Future Leaders

We're proud to introduce the Academics and Business Connections Program (ABC), a new initiative that brings businesses and the community closer while preparing Birmingham's students for a successful future. This groundbreaking partnership between Birmingham City Schools and the Birmingham Business Alliance integrates real-world learning experiences into students' education.

Here's how businesses can get involved:

  1. Provide mentorship to high school students.

  2. Serve as tutors for remediation, acceleration and enrichment.

  3. Assist in building life and career readiness skills.

Starting Early:

The ABC Program aims to engage students from an early age. Businesses play a crucial role in educating students about the careers awaiting them after graduation, as they are highly receptive to learning from professionals working in their desired fields. We can inspire students to explore different career paths within our community by fostering career education from Pre-K and beyond.

Preparing a Future-Ready Workforce:

The program’s primary objective is to equip students with the tools they need to succeed in the dynamic world of work. We recognize the importance of preparing graduates for college, careers and life beyond the classroom. Through ABC, we provide students with real-world, relevant experiences that align with workforce needs.

Building Strong Partnerships for Success:

Partnerships are at the heart of ABC. Collaborating between businesses and schools is vital for students' holistic development and community growth. By forging strong connections between the business world and education, we create meaningful opportunities for students to explore their potential, gain practical skills and ignite their passion for learning.

“Launching the Academics and Business Connections Program marks a significant milestone in advancing education and community engagement in Birmingham. We are taking a bold step towards preparing our students for success, fostering meaningful partnerships and cultivating a workforce that drives our community’s growth.”
