
Steve Ammons Named Birmingham Business Journal 2025 Top CEO Honoree
The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) is proud to announce that President and CEO Steve Ammons has been named a 2025 Top CEO honoree by the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ). This recognition celebrates Steve’s visionary leadership, commitment to regional collaboration and unwavering dedication to advancing economic growth across the Greater Birmingham Region.
Since stepping into the role of CEO in 2023, Steve has reenergized the BBA’s mission to create jobs, attract capital investment and strengthen the region’s competitive position.
In 2024, the BBA announced $490 million in capital investment for projects, representing 1,001 new jobs. BBA currently has 39 active pipeline projects that represent more than 7,000 jobs, reflecting Steve and his team's success in driving significant economic development and job creation in the region.
Steve has also championed initiatives that bring the region together around shared priorities, from revitalizing the Leadership Exchange and expanding public policy and advocacy efforts to launching programs that support small business growth and workforce development. His guiding principle, “Strong Economies are Regional Economies,” underscores his belief that collaboration is the key to sustainable prosperity.
Beyond his role at the BBA, Steve’s long-standing dedication to public service and civic engagement reflects his deep commitment to the community. A U.S. Navy veteran and lifelong advocate for public safety, he has helped strengthen local foundations and regional partnerships that improve quality of life for residents across Jefferson County and beyond.
