IMA Financial Group Appoints New Leaders to Support Next Phase of Growth
IMA Financial Group, Inc., a North American insurance brokerage firm specializing in risk management, employee benefits, and investment advisory services, has announced leadership changes designed to support continued growth, strengthen its financial strategy, and sharpen its regional focus.
Suzanne van Staveren has been named Chief Financial Officer, effective January 5, 2026. She joins IMA Financial Group from Edelman Financial Engines where she served as CFO and COO. Prior to Edelman, van Staveren held financial leadership roles at Goldman Sachs.
“Our focus is building a sustainable, high-performing organization to benefit clients and associates alike,” said van Staveren. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with IMA’s impressive leadership team, aligning strategy and execution to deliver exceptional value in the marketplace.”
“As CFO, Suzanne will be a key architect of our growth, helping shape our financial strategy and ensuring we scale with both confidence and discipline,” said IMA Financial Group Chairman and CEO Rob Cohen.
Additionally, building on rapid growth across the East, IMA has realigned its East operations into Southeast and Northeast regions to position the firm for continued expansion. Drew Pippin will lead the Southeast region in his new role as President, Southeast Region and Director of Corporate Partnerships and will oversee offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Mike Bodack was named President of the newly formed Northeast region, covering offices in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania.
Stephen DeMatteo has been appointed Northeast Region Chief Operating Officer and will partner with Bodack to drive operational alignment, accountability and execution across the region. Two new market leadership appointments in New York support the firm’s Northeast expansion: Melissa Morle as Westchester Market President and Andrew Krantz as New York City Market President.
To further advance IMA’s specialty growth strategy, Cooper Cohen has been appointed Vice President of Specialties, leading both National Industry Practices and National Practice Groups under a unified structure.
“Five years ago, IMA expanded into the East with 35 associates. Today, we employ approximately 600 associates across 10 locations,” Cohen added. “Realigning into Southeast and Northeast regions makes our leadership structure even stronger, positioning us to better serve our clients and continue growing with clarity.”
